This field is applicable only to dataset class data objects.
It indicates the type of record keys used within the dataset, i.e. whether the dataset is anonymised, pseudonymised, or neither. It is included to clarify the possible legal requirements around the data. The possible values are:
id | name | description | source |
---|---|---|---|
1 | None | No keys present at all, apart from a possible sequential record number, generally only applicable to single flat files. | ECRIN |
2 | Anonymised | Anonymised data with arbitrary key values applied to records, used only to link the different records belonging to the same person, i.e. across different flat files. The keys used have no link with any other system or material. | ECRIN |
3 | Pseudonymised | Data belonging to the same individual share the same key, and that identifier references a separate file or material that allows the individual to be identified, though that file is kept securely and is not available to the data recipient. | ECRIN |
4 | Pseudonymised with identifying material | Data belonging to the same individual share the same key, and that identifier references a separate file or material that allows the individual to be identified, though that file is kept securely and is not available to the data recipient. | ECRIN |
9 | Comment on recordkeys present | Indicators or comment on recordkey types present but not classifiable as one of types 1-4. Details field should be used for the comment. | ECRIN |
0 | Not yet known | Dummy value supplied by default on entity creation. | ECRIN |
