It indicates the type of consent for re-use and sharing associated with the data. This has nothing to do with the consent for the original study, or the processing and use of the data in that study – it is only concerned with the consent given – if any – for the secondary use of the data generated by the study. It is included to clarify possible legal restrictions on the data.
